This is the first part of the Summer Money Saving Series. 

Summer is a busy season in all parts of the world.  This is the time when flowers bloom and the warm heat of the sun tans the skin to golden brown. This is also the season when activities might lead you overspending. Spending summers with a small budget should not be that boring. There are so many activities that you could engage in that will make your summer most pleasurable, exciting and memorable.

How about trying out outdoor sports in a nearby fee free gymnasium, a fee free park or in a nearby beach. So many sports can be played in a gym or the beach. Try out volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, basketball, perhaps football or even frizz bee. These are just simple sports that can be played all year round, but would be interesting to do as well, with the warm breeze of summer.

How about fishing in a nearby lake or river? It would be interesting to try exploring your environment around your neighborhood. But do be wary of the places where you could fish or not, because you just might be caught by the authorities, ‘saying this is a non-fishing area’, and then getting a penalty stub or worst ending up in jail.

Have you tried camping in summer?  Perhaps, in a nearby forest reserve where camping is allowed. It would be interesting to discover nature and its wonders, while we still can.

What about a home hobby? Where you do not have to go out of the house and commute to the place where you have to do the hobby. Cross stitching perhaps and making marvelous designs with you needle and thread. Gardening would also be interesting. Planting flowers, vegetables, which you could later serve for dinner. Or perhaps carpentry and designing the household into the interiors you’d like it to have and becoming your very own interior decorator of your home.

You could save a lot on summer activities if you think creatively on things that you would do. Don’t let a small budget ruin your dream summer vacation or interests, get out of there and make your dreams come true..
